Painting & Preserving the Santa Monica Mountains for 25 Years

The Allied Artists of the Santa Monica Mountains and Seashore is a group of painters who for more than 25 years have joined together in celebrating the inspiration and beauty of our local coastal region through the joy of painting. In the spirit of "Painting it Forward," the art we create enables us to give back to the cherished environment we paint.

As representational artists working within a variety of mediums and at all skill levels, we enjoy a special camaraderie painting on location "en plein aire" amidst some of the most stunning scenery in California. Our artist members’ passionate love of nature is truly lived out in real time with the paintbrush in hand.

Gathering at monthly Paint Outs, known for being both fun and instructive, the artists collaborate at scheduled locations giving painting demonstrations, as well as positive encouragement through tips, techniques and insights – along with the occasional post Paint Out festive potluck!

We are also well known for our popular art exhibitions, from which a portion of sales proceeds are donated to fulfilling our mission of supporting conservation efforts. We welcome you to join us in painting and preserving the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area!
